More than 30,000 LGBTQ+ young people have no safe place to go this winter. Rejected by their families after coming out, now they also face hostility from the media, the law and the adults meant to protect them. With your support, we can find safe homes for young people and help them to thrive.

Youth homelessness is on the rise in the UK and LGBTQ+ people are disproportionately affected; 1 in 4 LGB+ young people have been homeless, rising to 1 in 3 for trans youth. Rejected by those meant to protect them, thousands of young people face this winter alone. But a safe home where you can be yourself without judgement is the first step for a young person to survive and thrive.
akt helps LGBTQ+ young people into safe homes and supports them to live independently. Young people in crisis across the UK can speak directly to akt via digital chat. Akt’s emergency response removes people from life-threatening situations. Longer-term, we match young people with a specialist caseworker for tailored 1:1 support, like help with housing, budgeting, access to counselling and the basics to set up a first home - so they can build skills, confidence, and community.
