Westminster Cathedral’s sound equipment’s main control and processing components are outdated. Repairs are difficult due to limited support and availability of parts. There is a significant risk of system failure during major feast days and special services. The Cathedral relies on multiple systems of differing ages and technologies. The Lady Chapel is served by an analogue system dating back to the 1980s, while the main body of the Cathedral uses two different early-generation digital systems.

Our goal is to fund the installation a single, modern, fully integrated digital sound system throughout the entire Cathedral. This upgrade will significantly enhance the clarity and reach of sound, ensuring that services, music, and spoken word can be heard with dignity and precision in every corner. Most importantly, it will greatly reduce the risk of system failure—something that could otherwise occur at critical moments, such as major feast days and special services.
