Impact areas
Our beneficiaries are people forced to leave their homes, often in traumatic circumstances, due to persecution, conflict, and fears for their safety. But they struggle to navigate the UK asylum system. Around one fifth are homeless or in insecure housing, many are at risk of destitution, have limited English, and face policies designed to deter their presence. They experience alienation, isolation and poor mental health but face multiple barriers to accessing support and community integration.
Over 1,000 clients a year are supported by services such as • Immigration/Asylum & Holistic Casework assisting with asylum claims, access to accommodation, healthcare, education/training, financial support, employment, integration. • Regular Drop-in Sessions to help with socialisation, English language support, mental health & wellbeing, advice & acclimatisation, signposting & referrals to other service providers. • Hardship Support. • Homework Clubs for refugee children. • Awareness & Advocacy.
