Adults with terminal and life-limiting illnesses in Herts and Bucks need your help. Your donations will make a difference to them by providing outstanding specialist palliative, end of life care in our 7-bed Inpatient Unit at The Hospice of St Francis and in our community, this Christmas and beyond.

Every year we admit 220 patients to our Inpatient Unit who are too ill to be cared for at home and would benefit from our specialist pain relief and palliative treatment. Last year our community nurses team carried out 1,912 visits to patients. Family members can struggle with responsibilities of caring for someone at end of life and seeing them in pain. Families want to be able to cherish their time together, safe in the knowledge that the patient’s every medical and care need is taken care of.
Patients with even the most complex needs do not have to be in hospital – they can be admitted to our 24/7 Inpatient Unit where they receive outstanding palliative and end of life hospice care in a homely environment, helping to reduce their pain and distress and wrapping them in a blanket of support. Christmas is a special time in our IPU as well as in the community. Every effort is made to ensure that patients and loved ones can spend worry-free quality time together, making lasting memories,
