Data from the Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation 2020 shows that the area in which RCT operates is among the 20% most deprived in Scotland, with some communities within the top 5%. These statistics are based on factors such as life expectancy, unemployment, alcohol and drug use, poverty, education, health, teenage pregnancy, crime levels, etc. We are a key member of a strategic partnership to help work with local people to address these issues.

We bridge the gap between people in need and locally available services. RCT provides a weekly lunch drop-in. Additionally, our support workers play an active role in a weekly multi-agency meeting where relevant issues and concerns about people living in the community are discussed. Following the meeting, our support workers carry out joint visits with partners, getting alongside people at their greatest time of need. We also support local groups, i.e. foodbanks, schools & community centres.
