WellBoring is volunteer-led and has provided new boreholes to over 300 communities and refurbished boreholes in an additional 250 communities. Our target is 1,000 boreholes which would bring safe water to over 1 million children and communities - we are over half way there - WATER IS LIFE!

Without functioning boreholes kids are often sent miles to collect dirty water - this results in sickness and time away from education .When we provide a well, sickness and abseentism decreases, and enrollment and achievement increases. More girls are educated and safe water makes the difference between poverty and opportunity.
WellBoring drills new boreholes and installs simple handpumps. In addition, we rescue dead handpumps and get them working again. Importantly, we maintain all of our wells in order to ensure that 99.9% are working 99.9% of the time! New boreholes cost around £8,000, whilst refurbished ones are around £2,500. Where demand is extra high, we sometimes install solar-powered wells, at a cost of around £15,000. We average over 1,000 beneficiaries per well
