Thousands of children across Derby grow up facing financial hardship, social isolation and challenging home circumstances. For many, a family holiday is simply out of reach. Without positive experiences, they miss opportunities to build confidence, friendships and resilience. Derby Kids’ Camp exists to ensure disadvantaged children can experience the joy, safety and belonging of a free residential holiday, regardless of their family’s financial circumstances.

Derby Kids’ Camp provides a free week-long residential summer camp for around 300 disadvantaged children each year. The experience includes nutritious meals, outdoor adventures, sports, creative activities, trusted adult role models and opportunities to build confidence, independence and friendships. Every child is referred because they would benefit from a safe, positive holiday experience they otherwise would not receive.
