Beneficiaries
Children attending Bombolulu Educational Centre come from one of the poorest communities in Mombasa, where many families cannot afford secondary education and have no access to computers or the internet. Without digital skills they are at a serious disadvantage when progressing to further education, vocational training or employment. This project will tackle digital exclusion by providing regular access to technology and practical IT skills for both children and adults living in this slum region
We will create a fully equipped IT Learning Centre within our free secondary school, providing computers, internet access, educational software and teacher support. Students will receive regular digital learning, developing practical IT skills, confidence and the ability to research, communicate, complete coursework and prepare for further education and employment. Adult illiteracy will be addressed by providing supervised out of school hours access to the learning centre
