Cancer can place sudden financial and emotional pressure on members of the Armed Forces community. Treatment costs, travel, accommodation, family care, home adaptations and lost income can quickly become overwhelming. Many also face treatment and recovery while stationed away from family support networks. Military culture can make it harder to ask for help, leaving people isolated and unsupported during one of the most challenging times of their lives.
Military vs Cancer will provide rapid, tailored support to serving personnel, veterans and families affected by cancer. We will award emergency grants, fund travel and accommodation for treatment, help with household pressures, childcare and home adaptations, and provide emotional support, advocacy and respite opportunities. By responding quickly and compassionately, we reduce isolation, ease financial hardship and ensure families receive the support they need when they need it most.
