Theatre Deli has been a driving force within the arts since 2008, taking over empty spaces in city centres, and creating artistic hubs that support emerging artists, companies and communities whose identities, backgrounds, disciplines or work are underrepresented in theatre.

London faces a growing shortage of affordable cultural production and community spaces. Between ‘22-’25, 152 production spaces closed, while only 52 new spaces managed to open: for every venue that opened, three closed. The spaces where artistic ideas are developed are declining at an alarming rate.

Theatre Deli works in partnership with local authorities and commercial property owners to create cultural hubs and production spaces in meanwhile-use venues. Our work in venues will provide vital support for artists and a resource for local communities who might otherwise view empty buildings as wasted opportunities at best, and a blight at worst. We will breathe new life into underused spaces, enabling ideas to come to life.
