We need to complete the final 230m of the Lichfield Canal at Gallows Reach, creating a safe green‑blue route for walking, cycling, nature and wellbeing, and eventually boats. This work relies on donations; without them, restoration will be delayed and key environmental benefits postponed.

The south‑east of Lichfield is expanding fast, but green and blue infrastructure is fragmented, biodiversity is under pressure and safe walking and cycling routes are lacking. A 230m canal section at Gallows Reach is ready for restoration in 2027, but volunteers need funding for materials.
With the right investment, we can restore and re‑water 230m of canal at Gallows Reach, creating a nature‑rich, traffic‑free route that supports wellbeing, wildlife and sustainable travel. The project boosts biodiversity, improves flood resilience, strengthens heritage and links Borrowcop Locks Canal Park to Gallows Wharf. Planning consent is secured and volunteers will be ready in 2027.
