For 36 years the Bridgend Centre has supported people who are lonely or need help. We are open six days a week to provide a warm and supportive welcome to anyone who comes through the door. We also provide befriending and transport, which gives people company and enables them to get out and about.

44% of adults in the UK say they are chronically lonely, and if left unchecked, it can badly affect their health. Loneliness has been recognised as one of the biggest health challenges facing society today. It leads to an increased risk of heart disease, stroke, depression, anxiety dementia & poor sleep. It’s as harmful to our health as smoking 15 cigarettes a day. Many people in Bollington are lonely due to their personal circumstances, age, disability and the rural location in which they live.

We are a welcoming community space in the heart of Bollington which provides a warm welcome to all six days a week. Within this space we provide a range of services to combat loneliness, including an information and advice service, befriending, shopping and community transport, social groups and activities.
