NYJO has been working for over 60 years to find and develop some of the country's foremost jazz musicians. Our work begins with our schools visits and culminates in our Emerging Professional's programme featuring small ensembles and the Blueprint Orchestra

Musical education in schools has been declining for several years and our work introduces young people from the age of 11 to jazz and instrumental learning.
This is particularly aimed at students in low income groups - all the students come from schools with no instrumental learning. NYJO provides the instruments and there is no charge for either instruments or lessons.
