Badgers play a vital role in keeping our ecosystems balanced, yet they are among the most persecuted species. By challenging harmful legislation, providing wildlife crime training and running a helpline, we help safeguard badgers, our heritage and our natural landscapes.

Over 247,000 badgers were killed under the cull in England, pushing some local populations towards extinction and the new Welsh Government has started discussing a badger cull in Wales. Planning legislation threatens to weaken protections, allowing badgers to be killed for development. Thousands more die on our roads and through wildlife crime. Losing badgers damages our natural landscapes. They are a native animal that plays a vital role in soil health, seed dispersal and insect control.

Badger Trust is the leading voice for badgers in England and Wales, supported by a network of 58 local groups. This campaign will help fund vital services such as the Badger Trust helpline, which handled over 8,000 calls and emails in 2025, each representing a chance for a positive outcome for a badger. It will also support challenges to harmful legislation, oppose a cull in Wales, strengthen local groups and deliver enhanced wildlife crime training for police forces.
