There are 105,000 people living with spinal cord injury in the UK, and 37% of new injuries referred to specialist centres in 2024–25 resulted in tetraplegia. Lives can change in an instant, leaving people with permanent paralysis, reduced mobility and independence, barriers to work, and significant emotional and financial pressures. Many cannot access the specialist equipment and support needed to live safely, independently and with dignity.

Regain will provide more grants for specialist active wheelchairs, power add-ons, handcycles, assistive technology and other essential equipment that statutory services do not fund. Alongside practical support, we offer peer connection, skills development, adaptive sport and respite opportunities. Together, these services help people with tetraplegia increase their independence, strengthen confidence, improve mobility and participation in family, work and community life.
