Children and young people growing up in the UK's most deprived communities face multiple and often overlapping disadvantages, including poverty, poor mental health, SEND, educational exclusion, caring responsibilities and social isolation. These barriers limit access not only to mainstream education but enriching activities that build confidence, resilience, wellbeing and aspirations, reinforcing long-term inequalities and reducing life chances.

The Andrew Simpson Foundation uses sailing, watersports and blue spaces as a catalyst for change, providing fully funded, inclusive programmes that improve confidence, resilience, wellbeing and life skills. Working alongside schools, community organisations and local partners, we support children and young people facing disadvantage to overcome barriers, gain accredited qualifications, connect with positive role models and build brighter futures.
