We are focused on helping local residents who are in severe financial hardship with unmanageable levels of debt. We are notified about potential clients by our local Foodbanks, Citizens Advice and NHS, or from direct responses to a national call centre run by "Christians Against Poverty". A typical debt client is in despair over mounting debts, unable to see a solution and potentially suicidal. We offer a free service to all with compassion but without judgement.
We follow a 3 stage set of meetings with debt clients to identify their level of debt, prepare an income and expenditure budget and with the help of the national Charity Christians Against Poverty Head Office FCA financial specialists, then renegotiate their debts or advise on debt relief orders. Thereafter, we keep in contact with the client, pray for them and invite them to be more involved in local community activities, including churches
