Oxford’s roads have become increasingly congested and dangerous. In recent years, four women have lost their lives while cycling in the city, and levels of serious injury among cyclists remain high. Road danger discourages people from cycling, preventing them from accessing the significant health and well-being benefits of active travel. We campaign for better infrastructure and stronger regulation to make our streets safer. Our aim is for a city where cycling is a fun and safe way to travel.
Cyclox continues to advocate for Vision Zero, working with local communities, businesses, and organisations to demand safer streets in Oxford. We aim to change the conversation by shifting the narrative away from the perceived loss of driver convenience and towards the protection and safety of people. Our aim is to support and prioritise road safety for cyclists and pedestrians, campaigning for a city where safer streets are the norm.
