LGBT+ young people sometimes struggle to feel included, understood and loved. People can be cruel and unkind to them usually due to lack of understanding or misinformation. LGBT+ young people often feel unhappy, isolated and are subjected to bullying. This leads to anxiety, depression, poor mental health, self harming and suicidal ideation.
We run groups for LGBT+ young people all over Dorset. This ensures that LGBT+ young people have a safe 'space' to make friends, learn factual information, get support for things that are affecting them. They can make good friends that often last a lifetime. We encourage a youth led approach which means young peoples have a say in the running of Space. Our workers are dedicated, experienced, qualified, have lived experience and care. Young people want us to help parents/carers and profession
