In northern France, people fleeing danger live entirely outside the system - their makeshift camps are routinely cleared by early morning police raids forcing families to move again with nothing but the clothes on their backs. In Greece, people already in the asylum process are held for months in closed camps - fenced, guarded and lacking in even the most basic necessities and with few rights. These are just two examples of the brutal systems people are facing in search of safety.

Coordinator Maria from our partner charity arrived at a camp in Calais shortly after a police eviction. Blankets were trampled in the mud, tents taken to landfill. She found a man left with nothing but an infected wound. A donation of £60 provides a new tent and two sleeping bags. £30 provides emergency medical care.
