Help Malawian farmers defeat climate-driven hunger using Tiyeni's award-winning Deep Bed Farming. Your donation will be matched 1:1, doubling your impact to help smallholders permanently restore degraded soil, capture rainfall, and more than double their crop yields in the very first year.

Smallholder farmers across Malawi are facing a severe food security crisis driven by a destructive cycle of climate shocks, acute soil erosion, and structural poverty. Traditional farming methods leave fields highly vulnerable to alternating droughts and severe tropical storms, washing away topsoil and locking families into low crop yields. Without reliable access to the means to restore soil health, families cannot grow enough food to eat or sell, forcing them into a cycle of poverty.
Tiyeni solves this by equipping communities with Deep Bed Farming (DBF) a revolutionary, climate-smart agricultural methodology validated by the Government of Malawi’s Department of Agricultural Research Services. DBF breaks up the hard, compacted soil pan to maximize rainwater harvesting on farmland, eliminate soil erosion, and actively restore soil microbiology. Unlike slow-acting organic interventions, DBF immediately alters the land's hydrology, allowing farmers to thrive.
