Since 2020, Food Connect has shared 1800 tonnes of food, the equivalent of 4.2 million meals across eleven community organisations in Milton Keynes. Using zero emissions vehicles we have improved city's air quality and helped build more resillient communities. Please help keep our wheels turning?

Did you know 35% of the UK’s green house gas (GHG) emissions comes from our food and drink production? Huge amounts of resources go into growing, processing, packing, storing and transporting food however 6.4 million tonnes of edible food is wasted yearly by retailers, manufacturers, caterers, restaurants and in people’s homes in the UK (WRAP). Meanwhile one in four households with children (25.8%) have experienced food insecurity affecting an estimated 4 million children in the UK.
We support a network of community partners to access healthy food so that they can deliver food projects within their communities such as cooking classes, community cafe's and community fridge projects. We reduce food waste in Milton Keynes by collecting unwanted food from local retailers and share it across the city. We use sustainable transport solutions such as e-vans and e-cargo bikes and therefore improve our city's air quality while creating fairly paid local jobs.
