Impact areas
Many of the young people we support live in communities within the UK's 10% most deprived areas and are disproportionately affected by food poverty and the cost-of-living crisis. Hunger impacts wellbeing, concentration and participation, while financial hardship can increase anxiety, isolation and exclusion. Without reliable access to nutritious food, young people face significant barriers to feeling safe, developing positive relationships and achieving their potential.
We will provide meals, snacks and drinks throughout our programmes, ensuring every young person has access to nutritious food in a safe, welcoming environment. Shared breakfasts, lunches and cooking activities help build trust, community and belonging, while teaching nutrition, budgeting and cooking skills. Food provision removes barriers to participation, supports wellbeing and enables young people to engage fully in the opportunities and support we provide.
