Exclusions are rising and children’s needs are becoming more complex. From 2015 demand for Education, Health and Care Plans has increased by 140%.Many children are labelled disruptive when they are actually communicating unmet emotional needs.Pupils at Mulberry Bush often arrive after multiple placement breakdowns.Traditional classrooms can feel overwhelming, making learning impossible.Therapeutic/flexible learning environments help children regulate emotions and engage successfully in education.
We believe every child deserves a learning environment where they feel supported and inspired. As the needs of our community evolve, so must our classrooms. We will modernise and refit our education spaces to meet the diverse needs of children aged 5–13, many of whom are neurodivergent. By creating adaptable, inclusive environments where difference does not single children out. We will enable every child in our care to feel safe, regulated and able to flourish.
