Every week, Ipswich Community Media helps people who have been forced to leave everything behind find friendship, confidence, language and purpose. At the same time, we support local young people to discover their potential before isolation becomes crisis.

Ipswich is the most deprived local authority in Suffolk, with one-third of its neighbourhoods among the 20% most deprived in England. Refugees, migrants and many local young people face isolation, poor mental health, language barriers and unemployment. Nationally, more than one in eight 16 to 24-year-olds are not in education, employment or training. Without trusted community support, these challenges can lead to long-term exclusion.

No one should feel alone in the place they call home. We create safe, welcoming spaces through 12+ weekly ESOL classes, Information, Advice and Guidance, volunteering opportunities, wellbeing projects, community activities, mentoring and creative sessions for young people. Together, we're helping people build friendships, learn English, improve their wellbeing and gain the confidence to access work, education and local services, becoming active members of their communities.
