Little Angel Theatre is situated in Islington, one of the most unequal boroughs in the UK. It has the 4th highest level of child poverty in London and a third of children live in an income-deprived household. The cost of living crisis means many low-income families and schools are forced to reduce trips and cultural experiences, widening the gap between the poorest children and their better off peers. Our list of eligible families is over 1,000, far more than we have the funding to accommodate.

As we celebrate 65 years of Little Angel Theatre, we want to bring the magic of puppetry to even more children and families who would otherwise miss out. Across the financial year 25/26, we were committed to offering 1,500 tickets to families on state benefits but we actually gave out 1,644 in response to the uplift in demand. We believe that all children should be able to have access to the arts through their school years, no matter the financial situations of their families.
