Leatherhead Youth Project (LYP) helps young people aged 11 – 24 to build a brighter future. We run youth cafes in Leatherhead and Bookham and deliver counselling and emotional well-being support across Mole Valley.

Recent NHS research found 1 in 4 young people aged 8 – 16 who were struggling with their mental health also had a parent who couldn’t afford for their child to take part in activities outside of school or college. These activities help to boost young people’s confidence, build their social skills and gain a sense of belonging to a community. The financial barrier means there are young people who are unable to access activities that would have a positive impact on their mental health.
LYP offers a variety of free projects for young people aged 11 – 24. By removing the financial cost to families, young people have free access to LYP youth cafes after school, can get involved in targeted evening projects and even take part in social action projects that benefit their local community. These activities positively impact their mental health and enable young people to build valuable connections with their peers, whilst being supported by our experienced team of youth workers.
