Impact areas
We are seeing increasing complexity in needs and multiple disadvantages faced: homelessness or the threat of homelessness, poor mental health, addiction, trauma, financial hardship, domestic abuse, loneliness, and deteriorating physical health. Many have fallen through gaps in traditional support systems and have nowhere else to turn. Demand for services continues to grow as living costs rise and the pressures on public services leave more people vulnerable to homelessness and social exclusion.
Doorway is a welcoming, non-judgemental environment where people are treated with dignity, respect and compassion. We create a space to rebuild lives providing nutritious meals, showers, laundry, clothing, toiletries, telephone and internet access, 1:1 support/advocacy, referrals to housing, health, addiction, benefits advice, wellbeing activities that reduce isolation and build confidence, practical and emotional support to help individuals sustain accommodation and improve resilience.
