Tower Hamlets has the fastest growing and youngest population in England and Wales and the highest child poverty rate of any UK local authority. Levels of SEND are above the London average and the borough ranks 6th in London for children classed as ‘in need’. These challenges create complex issues and barriers to arts engagement. Yet they are the children and young people that most need the social, educational and wellbeing benefits that arts participation brings.

Through our programme of professional live theatre made for young audiences, we give children, young people and their families joyful, educational, inspiring theatre experiences, especially those with barriers to arts engagement. Creative learning is at the heart of Half Moon, and we offer a wide range of in and out of school provision. With us, local children can gain the confidence and skills that set them up for a positive future and connect with others in an inclusive, fun, creative space.
