While Winchester is generally perceived as affluent, several pockets of deprivation exist in and around the city often with very limited access to the arts, due to barriers including cost, transport, awareness, and proximity to venues. Consequently residents experience poorer outcomes relating to income, health, education and access to services.
We will deliver a community-based workshops and activities linked to our Hat Fair Outdoor Arts festival. Ensuring that high-quality creative opportunities are accessible to all residents, helping to reduce inequalities in cultural participation while supporting wellbeing, community cohesion and local creative development. Focussing on young people, families and older people, building sustainable networks that support a legacy impact to benefit communities in the future.
