People diagnosed with facial palsy often leave hospital with little information about their condition, treatment options or the support available. Many experience uncertainty, anxiety and isolation at a time when they are trying to come to terms with significant physical and emotional changes. Access to reliable information and specialist support varies widely across the UK. Patients often turn to the internet, where information can be confusing, inconsistent or inaccurate.
This project addresses these gaps by delivering accessible information sessions led by trusted experts and people with lived experience. Patients will receive clear, evidence-based information about facial palsy, rehabilitation, mental wellbeing and available support services, helping them make informed decisions, feel less isolated and engage more confidently in their recovery.
