We look after those who take care of us. Our mission is to empower healthcare professionals to seek support, break down stigma, speak openly about mental health and effectively manage the pressures of the NHS profession.

YOD was founded after the tragic death of Dr Liz Sizer to provide a supportive community for healthcare workers to feel empowered & seek support. It is sadly estimated that 1 doctor dies by suicide every 3 weeks & 1 nurse dies by suicide every week. Regular exposure to trauma in an under-staffed system where it is stigmatised to seek help has led to unprecedented burnout & depression rates, with many exiting the NHS. We are created by doctors for doctors, to make a positive change for all.

YOD supports healthcare workers through three pillars: 1) Community Activation & Advocacy: building connection through our ambassador network, events and annual wellbeing symposium, bringing together healthcare professionals and experts. 2) Educational Resources: evidence-based podcasts, webinars, social media and expert resources. 3) Services Provision: Huddles which are a safe space for healthcare professionals to discuss life as a medic, and a free, confidential 24/7 text support service.
