A childhood visit to the theatre is always special, magical, for children and young people. It can be a life-changing experience. Sadly, many parents and carers locally won't be able to give their children the chance to enjoy the panto this year. Many families are struggling, so some of the children most in need of some festive cheer run the risk of missing out.
Each year, Ayr Gaiety supports hundreds of children to visit the pantomime through free and subsidised tickets - who wouldn't otherwise get the opportunity. Through our community engagement work, partnerships with local schools and nurseries, and more, we're able to reach children from the most disadvantaged parts of Scotland, and offer them the chance to experience theatre for the first time. Just £10 will give one child a great seat - while £300 can pay for an entire school class to attend.
