Many people in Maidstone face poverty, homelessness, domestic abuse, addiction and financial hardship. One in three children live in poverty, homelessness is rising, and our neighbourhood is among the 9% most deprived in England. Winter and Christmas intensify pressure on struggling families, increasing demand for food, furniture and crisis support. The King’s Pantry responds with choice-based fresh, frozen and cupboard food, fuel vouchers, clothing, essentials and practical help.
People in crisis need more than calories; they need nutritious food that supports their health and wellbeing. By allowing people to choose food that suits their family, culture and medical needs, we reduce food waste and increase the likelihood it will be eaten. Alongside furniture and household essentials that help create safe, stable homes, our support reduces hardship, restores dignity and gives people the foundation to recover, rebuild and move towards long-term stability.
