This Christmas, help people experiencing homelessness and rough sleeping in Southend-on-Sea. We're raising funds for a warm, safe space with hot meals, winter clothing, mental health support and one-to-one guidance so people can recover, feel valued and move on from the streets for good.

Winter is the most dangerous time to have nowhere to go. As temperatures drop in Southend, people are still being pushed onto the streets by rising rents and the cost of living — many facing homelessness for the first time in their lives. The cold is brutal: on physical health, on mental health, on the sense of being seen and valued. Our day centre offers a way in from the streets this Christmas: warmth, hot meals, a safe space, and lasting support.
At our Bradbury Day Centre, the first step is meeting urgent needs — a hot meal, clean clothes, a shower, and a friendly face. From there, our team works one-to-one with each person: finding safe housing, supporting mental health, and rebuilding confidence. We connect people to the right services and open doors into training, volunteering and work — so the journey doesn't end with getting off the streets, but with a life beyond homelessness.
