We work to relieve poverty, advance education, address social inequality, support the VCSE sector and empower those at a disadvantage. By supporting HIVE Portsmouth you’re also helping hundreds of local voluntary sector organisations making an immeasurable difference to those who live in the city.

In Portsmouth's poorest neighbourhoods, men die 15 years earlier than those in the wealthiest parts of the city, and women 14 years earlier. Nobody should lose years of life because of where they live. Behind the numbers are real lives: families choosing between heating and eating, older people going days without speaking to anyone, parents facing illness alone. This winter, thousands of our neighbours are struggling with poverty, poor health and isolation. It doesn't have to be this way.
When someone walks into one of our community hubs, in the heart of Portsmouth's most deprived neighbourhoods, they get help that day: with money worries, health, loneliness, whatever they're carrying. Then we stay with them for the longer term. Last year we supported over 13,000 residents, and demand has risen 120% in a year. We also sit on Portsmouth's Health and Wellbeing Board, so what residents tell us directly shapes city services. Your gift helps us reach people before crisis does.
