Every day we meet people whose lives have been changed by poor mental health, loneliness or bereavement. Many rarely leave home, have lost confidence, purpose and hope, and feel cut off from family, friends and their community. Without support, mental health often deteriorates, increasing the risk of crisis, hospital admission and long term isolation. Many also face long waits for specialist help, leaving them to cope alone when they need support most.
NHS teams, Social Services and other organisations refer people to ACCEPT because our supportive community helps lives change. Through gardening, carpentry, creativity and friendship, people improve their confidence, mental and physical health while reconnecting with nature and others. Our Bereavement Friendship Group offers a safe place to share experiences, rebuild hope and move forward after loss, including complex and traumatic bereavements.
