Approximately 6000 people in Leicestershire and Rutland are diagnosed with cancer each year and before 2012 access to clinical trials meant long-distance travel, costs and separation from family. The work of the Hope Cancer Trials Centre requires a local voice of support to help fundraise, support grant writing and keep our area as a hub of cancer research expertise. This requires sustainable and ongoing funding.

The Hope Cancer Trials Centre’s work and the innovative research happening in our area means the people of the East Midlands, and beyond have world-leading care available closer to home. Hope funded research focuses primarily, but not exclusively, on early detection of cancer and personalised care. Hope Against Cancer continues to work to support the excellent local facilities, fund two clinical nurses and provide research grants so that one day we may overcome cancer.
