Camden Giving, working with NW5 Project, local residents and architects, is leading the next stage of the NW5 Hut redesign. We are turning early ideas into plans for a better community space. Funds raised this Christmas will support design and planning work to prepare the building for its future. 17.5% of all funds raised through this Christmas Challenge campaign will go towards Camden Giving’s core costs to manage and deliver the project.

NW5 Hut has supported local families for 50 years, but the layout no longer fits how the neighbourhood uses it today. Space is limited, the building has limited natural light and is not well insulated, and different age groups often struggle to use the space at the same time. Some sessions feel cramped or split across areas that don’t quite work together. We need to redesign the space so it can better serve the community for future generations.

We are working with architects to redesign NW5 Hut based directly on community feedback. This phase focuses on planning and design work to improve how the building is used day to day. Funds raised will support the development of practical layouts that create more usable space, better comfort, and areas that can support different age groups and activities at the same time.
