In rural Nepal, most children with disabilities never go to school. We need your support to help make schools accessible, provide assitive devices such as wheelchairs and hearing aids, source learning materials, and train teachers so children with disabilities can learn with their friends.

In one of Nepal's poorest regions, 59% of children with disabilities are not in school. They face schools they cannot physically enter, teachers untrained in how to include them, a lack of suitable learning materials and stigma from their communities – and for girls with disabilities it is harder still. Nepal's laws promise inclusive education, but in remote districts like Kailali that promise rarely reaches the classroom.
We work with our Nepali partner and local schools to remove these barriers one by one. We make school buildings accessible, provide assitive devices such as wheelchairs and hearing aid, source learning materials, and train teachers to include every child. We help families believe their child can learn, and work with local government so inclusion becomes normal. It builds on our pilot project that succesfully increased disabled children's school attendance and enrolment in a neighboring district.
