Every child who stammers deserves the help they need. Research shows that giving effective support early makes a big difference. Far too many children who stammer don't get the help they need. This means they are more likely to have poor mental health, feel isolated, and lack hope for the future. At Action for Stammering Children, we work hard so that every child receives the help they need.
Our support gives children and families access to expert help. This includes: Growing Voices: Our 8-month outdoor stammering club for 7-11-year-olds in Durham. Talking Out: Our 6-month stammering programme for 12-17-year-olds with a 1-week residential in Yorkshire. Mentoring: Our mentoring scheme pairing 18-25-year-olds with career role models who also stammer. Families have described our programmes as "life changing". We make sure every child who stammers gets the help they need.
