Lebanon's conflict and crisis leave children, their caregivers and vulnerable communities without safe access to mental health support. This project trains women as trauma-informed yoga teachers so they can heal, earn, and bring healing to traumatised children and communities.

Women and children across Lebanon carry the trauma of conflict, displacement and fear. The lasting effects of conflict, including economic hardship, leave caregivers, mostly women, struggling to support their children without access to affordable mental health services. Chronic stress and anxiety affect entire households. The women and children who could benefit most from trauma-informed support are often the least able to access it, leaving entire communities without safe spaces to heal.

This project trains women from refugee, migrant and low-income communities as certified trauma-informed yoga teachers, giving them tools to heal themselves before bringing safe, affordable yoga to children and caregivers in their communities. Delivered by Tools for Inner Peace and our Lebanese partner Koun, it also creates pathways for earning income, enabling graduates to supplement their household income by leading community yoga classes for children and families.
