Destiny Africa cares for orphaned and vulnerable children in Uganda. Founded 20 years ago, the 15-acre Kampala Children's Centre is a purpose-built campus. It has provided family, education, medical care and many enrichment activities, through to independent adulthood for thousands of children.

In the town where we work, the majority of families live below the poverty line. Some children are orphaned or abandoned in infancy. Families struggle to provide sufficient nutrition or medical care and most are unable to pay for school uniform and school fees. Thousands of children have very little hope for their future. As they grow into teens, unemployment and the potential risk of drug abuse or unwanted pregnancies further compound these challenges and perpetuates these cycles of poverty.

We solve these challenges by breaking these cycles of poverty. We provide free or affordable pathways to family care, medical care, education, mentorship and employment. From the point that our social workers identify a vulnerable child or a child is referred to them by local child services, their destiny begins to be transformed. Through our care, each child has the opportunity to flourish, to dream, and to gain the means, education, skills, community and support needed to thrive and succeed.
