No one should live in fear of abuse. Yet millions are trapped in slavery, their freedom stolen. Daniela was trafficked to the UK, separated from her daughter and forced to work under threat of violence. Your gift helps bring people to safety from slavery and violence, reuniting families in freedom.

Right now, human trafficking is happening all over the world, including here in the UK. An estimated 50 million people are trapped in slavery – 1 in 4 is a child. Daniela was exploited at a London carwash, separated from her daughter and violently controlled by traffickers. IJM works with authorities to help bring people like Daniela to safety and strengthen justice systems to prevent abuse in the first place. The movement for freedom is urgent – act now to stop slavery and violence globally.

Slavery and violence thrive when perpetrators can abuse people with little fear of being caught. IJM works with governments, local justice systems, partners, and survivor leaders to bring trafficked and abused children, women, and men to safety; hold perpetrators to account; help survivors heal with trauma-informed care; and strengthen justice systems so people are protected from abuse. We’ve seen slavery decrease by up to 86% in places where we’ve worked, protecting over 10 million people.
