With your help, Homelink are hoping to raise £24,000 to cover the costs of a fun and stimulating programme of activities for older people with long term conditions such as dementia, Parkinson’s or stroke - and unpaid carers. Can you help us bring joy and a smile to their faces this winter?

Older people with complex health conditions find it difficult to function in the world. Their carers, often over 65 too, provide round-the-clock care to their loved one. Both are at high risk of chronic loneliness due to the demands of managing the condition, and carers often have no one to turn to. Compared to London overall, proportionally Richmond has: 1) a larger population of older people, 2) more older people living alone, and 3) far fewer people with dementia accessing day care services.

Homelink believes everyone should be able to live a meaningful life in which they feel engaged, purposeful, and connected within their community. To that end we provide day care for those who need it, and vital respite and social and emotional support for carers. Our programme of activities focuses on physical health, cognitive stimulation, creative pursuits, and wellbeing. Most importantly, clients & carers will have treasured opportunities to socialise with others in a supportive environment.
