Homeless adults with multiple and complex needs accessing Hope Housing services face severe winter hardship, including food insecurity, isolation, poor mental health and limited access to cooking facilities. Many are stuck in crisis cycles with low engagement in support. Without intervention, health and wellbeing deteriorate, increasing demand on emergency and homelessness services. Winter pressures, including SWEP activation, place additional strain on already stretched provision.
By providing daily on-site hot breakfasts and weekly cooking and life-skills sessions for homeless adults with multiple and complex needs who access our services. This delivers food, warmth, budgeting and independence skills, while creating peer support, friendships and a relaxed space to talk over meals, building routine and purpose. Staff provide wellbeing checks and referrals into services, supported by volunteers as SWEP periods and increased resident numbers increase winter demand.
