Our project will support refugees who are experienced doctors, nurses, pharmacists or care workers to rebuild health careers in the UK. Through employment guidance, access to language courses and reaccreditation assistance, we enable skilled refugees to work in our NHS and social care sectors.

Beneficiaries
Refugees face entrenched barriers to employment in health and social care; including recognition of overseas qualifications, language requirements, lack of UK-specific clinical experience and an understanding of UK recruitment practices. Meanwhile, social care alone has 111,000 unfilled roles in England and estimates predict a need for 410,000 more posts by 2040. Just 48% of refugees are in employment eight years after gaining status, together we can support more refugees to work in health care.
Our Health & Social Care programme provides bespoke employment support, access to language courses and reaccreditation guidance. We help refugees secure UK clinical placements and entry-level roles for vital UK experience, alongside workshops, employability events and peer mentoring from refugees who've already found health careers. We also build partnerships with NHS trusts and care providers, creating ringfenced employment pathways and influencing inclusive hiring practices across the sector.
