The UK is in the grip of a youth unemployment crisis, and young people from historically marginalised and low-income backgrounds are disproportionately affected. In London, almost 25% of 18-25 year-olds are currently unemployed, the highest rate of any region in the country. Studies show that disengagement starts at school – young people at this age who lack opportunity, a support network and trusted relationships are most at risk of finding themselves out of education, employment or training.
Kinetic Futures combines high-quality football coaching with a structured two-year employability programme – supporting young people to stay in education and progress into future opportunity. Our curriculum covers financial literacy, critical thinking, practical work skills and one-to-one mentoring, and runs alongside a regular training programme. We work with partner schools in the most deprived areas of London, improving educational attainment, broadening horizons and building future pathways.
