64% of children in Hackney are living in income-deprived households, making it the 2nd worst area for child deprivation in England. We work with families unable to access creative activities. Participants face complex challenges: poverty, racism, poor mental health, and low expectations for educational achievement. Some have educational needs, others affected by violence or school exclusion. Without somewhere to come together, trusted adults and positive activities they face uncertain futures.

We provide safe spaces across Hackney where young people come together and participate in free, positive drama activities. We support them to develop listening and speaking skills, focus and teamwork, to feel valued and empowered to make a change. In a supportive environment they learn to take risks, make mistakes and build resilience. They articulate their ideas and craft these into performances, gain accreditation, make friends, have fun, celebrate their achievements and find a voice.
