Our Christmas Present Drive supports children and families in Newport experiencing financial hardship by providing Christmas gifts, warm pyjamas and food parcels. Last year's funding enabled us to support significantly more families than ever before, helping children experience the joy and dignity.

Newport is the most deprived local authority in Wales, with 24% of neighbourhoods in the most deprived 10% nationally and around 36% of children living in poverty. Many families struggle to afford basic necessities, and some children go without Christmas gifts or warm clothing such as pyjamas. This project provides gifts and essential items to vulnerable families, easing hardship and ensuring children experience comfort, dignity and joy during the festive season.
In Newport, many children face Christmas without gifts due to hardship. We are now one of the largest Christmas support fundraisers locally. Thanks to a successful Big Give campaign, we more than doubled our reach, gifting 1,371 children brand new presents. We also supported 235 children with pyjamas and warm socks, 70 food parcels, and distributed vouchers, chocolate and essentials through 7 schools and 10 community groups, ensuring thousands of items reached families with dignity and care.
